Enjoy our curated selection of talks, workshops and classes designed specifically with pre-pointe and current pointe students in mind - as well as those just curious about all things pointe! This event has been created to provide insight, education and inspiration around one of the most magical parts of a ballet dancers journey; pointe work. Our videos cover everything from the making and history of pointe shoes, to how to make your pointe shoes last, what to expect from going en pointe, sewing tips, best exercises for improving your feet and pointe work, a pointe readiness class and a Q & A with an esteemed professional ballet dancer. About Amy: Amy began dancing at 5 years old in her home town in Western Australia. After a break from classes she returned at 11 years old and promptly fell head over heels in love with ballet. Amy completed three years of full-time training at the National Theatre Ballet School. During this time she also sought out a job that would allow her to work in the Dance community she loves, and so began her journey with Energetiks. After 10 years en Pointe and experience in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Flamenco, Lyra, Silks and more Amy is thrilled to be involved in supporting the next generation of dancers as part of the Energetiks team.
About The Dance Clinic: Operating as a highly regarded foot and ankle podiatry clinic, Highett Podiatry has developed a specialist clinic to focus on the dancer. The Dance Clinic works with dancers from all fields and works in conjunction with other allied health professionals and doctors to ensure a holistic approach to a dancer’s recovery. Dance biomechanics plays a pivotal role in a dancer’s foot health and wellbeing, and with over 25 years of combined podiatry and dance experience, Kirstine and Sophie ensure they are right behind the dancer every step, pivot and jeté along the way.

About Melissa: Born in Sydney, Melissa trained with the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy before being accepted into The Australian Ballet School. Receiving regular accolades during her time at The ABS, Melissa was later offered a position in The Australian Ballet upon her graduation. Recognising the need to gain experience abroad, and to satisfy her urge to travel, Mel headed west to West Australian Ballet, before accepting a position with Alberta Ballet Company in Canada. Since returning to West Australian Ballet in 2012 Mel has performed Principal and Soloist roles in a variety of productions, as well as choreographing for the company and individuals. Mel was also featured in Dance Australia 2018 as ‘The Most Outstanding Dancer Award’ and Dancer to watch for her role as Myrtle in David Nixon’s The Great Gatsby.

About Eliza: Eliza began dancing at the age of four in her hometown of Sydney. She took classes in all dance styles before falling in love with Musical Theatre, which she went on to study at Federation University’s Arts Academy in Ballarat. Since graduating Eliza has had a successful career in the performing arts and Australian Independent theatre, and has been passing on her knowledge, expertise and love of dance as an Energetiks team member and qualified pointe shoe fitter since 2019.
About Maggie: Maggie Lorraine is a protégé of Dame Marie Rambert, at sixteen years old she was plucked out of the Rambert School by Marie Rambert to join the company. She was the youngest company member and within two years she achieved the rank of Principal Dancer. Following this Maggie danced with a variety of Ballet companies all over the world including, London Festival Ballet, P.A.C.T. Ballet, New Zealand Ballet and West Australian Ballet Company. Following her retirement from dancing, Maggie began sharing her knowledge and skills through teaching, this combined with her keen interest in the health and wellbeing of dancers and appropriate training practices saw her appointed to a position on the Education Committee of IADMS (International Association of Dance Medicine and Science)… Read More

About Stacey: Stacey Kipouridis is a Physiotherapist with an interest in both dance and sports physiotherapy. She uses a combination of manual therapy techniques including dry needling, as well as education and dance specific exercises to help treat her dancers holistically. Being a strong believer in injury prevention programs and self management, Stacey wants to ensure all her dancers feel confident to be able to understand their bodies and self manage issues that can crop up when you are in the studio. About Emily: Emily began dancing at the age of four in Queensland, Australia. She trained in classical ballet full time before going on to pursue her passion and study musical theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium.
After moving to Melbourne in 2019 Emily has enjoyed a successful career as a musical theatre performer, also sharing her passion and knowledge of dance with younger students through teaching. On top of this Emily has been a valued member of the Energetiks Team for the past two years.
